The human digestive system Question

What is the benefit of Digestive System?

It Helps us to take the benefit

from different kinds of food we eat

solid or liquid, sweet or salty

by breaking down the complex food particles

to simple water soluble food particles…why?

to take the benefit of it

it consists of

1- the digestive canal which starts with the mouth and ends with he anus

2- the digestive canal supplementary those are the liver – the pancreas – salivary glands

First the digestive canal

It’s a long pipe about 10 meters long it consist of

The mouth – pharynx – esophagus – stomach – small intestine – large intestine

Its function: it digests and absorbs food

Now let’s start with the mouth

The mouth has

a) the teeth which cut , tear and grind the food its number is 32 in adult person each jaw has 4 incisors to cut the food , 2 canines to tear the food and 10 molars to grind the food

b) the tongue which is responsible for mixing food with saliva to make easy swallow to your food it also taste the food and helps you to speak

c) your mouth also have three pairs of salivary glands that secrete saliva liquid which has Enzymes that helps in changing starch to sugar in your mouth

G.R the taste of a piece of bread in your mouth becomes sweet in short time?

Because saliva changes starch to sugar in the mouth by the help of Enzymes

2- pharynx is a cavity from the mouth to the esophagus
